Here`s another great article:

I have a new rescue that is a year old. Apparently he learned how to use pee pads in his prior home and only eliminates on them. I was out with him for four hours today when we woke up and he held it until we went inside and he could use a pad – at this point I didn’t want him to get sick from holding it.

I have tried bringing pads – clean and dirty – outside but he is so dead set on using them inside. How do I transition him when he just wants to hold it in?
