Here`s another great article:
We have an 8 month old beagle. I had so many breakdowns while potty training him. We got him from a guy from the neighborhood app when he’s barely 3 months. From what we saw, he was well cared for, no trauma, nothing.
Then the weirdest thing happened. We have another dog who is a dachshund. The dachshund does well on walks so we never used a harness on him. We wanted to walk them together so we bought harnesses. And the moment we put it on the beagle, he froze. His whole demeanor changed. He became calmer.
Now I don’t know if this is bad parenting or not but we then have three harnesses for him, one for walk around the neighborhood, one for the park and one for him to calm down. He gets plenty of walks during the day and play as well but at night he still get a bit crazy. So we put the calm one on.
As far as we know, he was not abused. He had a good vet when we got him and besides the demeanor change, he doesn’t seem to be in distress or pain. But what is going on? Anyone has any idea? Thank you!
