Here`s another great article:
This will be my first summer with my sweet pup. I currently take him out for a 20 minute walk 3 times a day (every 7-8hrs) because the weather is nice but am needing to plan for the HOT and HUMID Arkansas summers. I figured I will take him out in the morning and evening when it is cool to protect his paws from the hot pavement and not take him out during the afternoons when it is too hot.
Is this a reasonable plan? I worry that a 12hr stretch (6am/6pm) is too long for bathroom breaks/play. I do live an an apartment complex with no fenced backyards. What are your walking plans for the hot summer months? Any other summer related tips/tricks for puppies? Any/all advice is welcome. Thanks so much!
