Teaching a small dog the “down” command

Here`s another great article:

So I noticed that pretty much every video on YouTube about training the “down” command is done with medium to large dogs. This matters, because the dog actually has to get fully down to access the treat. My 9 week old cockapoo can basically just tilt her head down from a sit and be near to ground enough to be close to the treat. As a result, the typical methodology is not working for me (or maybe I’m doing something else wrong!).

Any thoughts from other small dog owners? Thanks!!
