Here`s another great article:
I've had my 10 week puppy for 4 days now and he had spent a lot of his time on me (for naps, just to hangout). He does sleep in his crate at night and does well until he wakes up around 6am. I want him to feel safe with me, so I'm encouraging and allowing his behavior, but don't know if i'm ultimately hurting my chances at building independence. When he falls asleep on my lap, I try to place him in his crate or other beds during the day. Most of the time he'll stay and nap in his space, but others he'll just come back to me. Advice? Should I start limiting this behavior so soon? Currently watching lectures for school while he naps on my lap (I wish I didn't love this as much as I do).
