Here`s another great article:
So we have a 13 week old Samoyed puppy and we’re having trouble with potty training. He’s been with us for about a month. We put him in the crate when we leave or can’t supervise him closely, but even when we are watching him, he only seems to hold his pee for half an hour! When we take him out he pees only a little bit, but then he asks to go out again not too long after. If I ignore the barking he pees on the floor. When he’s in his crate he can hold his pee for 2 or three hours!
At first we put out pee pads but the trainer said it’s not a good idea cause it’s just giving him permission to pee inside.
Vet said he’s in perfect health. No UTIs. I don’t think he drinks a crazy amount of water cause he leaves water in the bowl every time
I’ve tried putting him on a schedule like taking him out on the hour every hour, but it doesn’t seem to be helping.
I also praise him and give him treats for peeing outside and interrupt him when he’s peeing inside.
What the heck am I doing wrong??
