Plastic vs wire crate

/ by

sourced from:

Here`s another great article:

I have a 15wk border collie. We currently have him in a metal wire crate we got from a friend.

Ever since 8 weeks my puppy would bite the crate bars. He only did it gently and I would replace with nylabone but from 12 weeks he’s got himself stuck twice. Both times he freed himself instantly, appeared to be fine, and both times I thought that he would never try that again but he has.

My friend needs her crate back so I’m not shopping for a crate. Would it be best for me to get a plastic crate to stop the biting? Can puppies sleep in plastic crates overnight or are they only for travel purposes?

Thanks 🙂
