Here`s another great article:

I am getting a golden retriever puppy from a friend of a friend, so excited!

I was the first to meet with them and put down a deposit, so they are giving me first pick of boys in the litter (there are 7 to choose from). They puppies were born 12/14, and they are asking if I want to pick mine out this weekend (about 4 weeks old) before taking him home at 7 weeks. The dogs are in a great environment and well socialized and loved for, so ultimately I think all of them are going to be great dogs, but 4 weeks seems a little early to choose. Will I be able to get an idea of their personality? Should I ask to postpone and choose later?
