Here`s another great article:
Our pup is very good at staying home or behind anywhere (hotels, loud noises outside, new places, etc) while we go out with zero symptoms of separation anxiety (our camera confirms this).
The problem is that if she can hear that we are just outside the door or if we have her separated from us and she knows we are around she freaks out. From our camera we can see that she behaves like a dog with separation anxiety: pacing, barking, drooling, whining, etc. Even if we come back inside and reassure her that we are ok, she continues to flip out.
Is this a puppy thing? How can we have her be okay seeing/hearing us from a distance?
