Here`s another great article:
We have a 5 month old golden retriever and a 4 year old lab/terrier mix neutered dog. Today the 4 year old had been acting super off, he didn’t want to play and he hasn’t really wanted to interact with anyone if my brother. Our puppy was honestly just coming inside from the backyard after doing his business, they were even that near each other maybe 10 feet away but all of a the 4 year old attacked the puppy and when we pulled him away he kept snarling until he no longer saw him. They have never fought, they do rough play but the puppy stops when he can’t handle anymore. The only explanation we could think of was that this is the dogs first time being neutered with our neighbors dogs in heat, but we honestly don’t know. Is this normal, I kind of want to take the dog to the vet but honestly the only thing he had before the attack was he wasn’t as energetic.
