Mouthy training

Here`s another great article:

I just acquired a pair of dogs (mother, about 2 years old, and pup). They came in off the streets (yes, we're vet-bound for shots and spays), abandoned. They're both really affectionate, passed tests for food and animal aggression. But one thing bothers me: they mouth me a lot.

It isn't that they bite down even. But they constantly nip fingers or the mom even engulfs my whole forearm from the side. It's more when they're excited, but I want to dissuade the mouthing in play and affection.

I've never learned how to train dogs, so all help is appreciated.
