Here`s another great article:
I have a pure male Labrador, 7 months old and have had him since he was 2 months old.
I'd like to know if my routine is OK?
Once a week, we bring him to the daycare where he can play with friends and so far, he likes it.
On the other 4 days of the week, he is crate from 8am to 4pm because I have to work. I do walk with him 15mins in the morning and again at 4pm.
For the rest of the day, I try to stimulate him as much as possible, like throwing food in the grass, giving him a wobbler, kong in the crate, play with him with a bully stick.
But man does he have energy!! At 8pm I can't keep it up and I have to crate him again with a bone.
When I feel like he comes too excited and that I can't contain him anymore (going to fetch shoes over and over, ignoring kibbles) I send him outside where he can sniffles the yard a little bit.
He's a very good dog but I do feel like he is being crated a lot. Will he get less excited with age?
Any input on this please?
