Here`s another great article:

I bought a goldendoodle puppy today and I can’t be happier to have done it! However, this is my first time raising a puppy, and I understand that it will take time.

At bedtime, I put her in the crate and although she whined for a little while, she ended up falling asleep at around 10 pm. At 2 am I woke up and noticed that she was awake so I walked her. She peed and I praised her, and everything was fine. As soon as I put her in the crate she started whining very loud, and of course, woke everybody up. I sat right next to her crate until she fell asleep; however, when I slowly moved to my bed she started whining again, and well, she stopped! I thought this is great and it’s time to go back to sleep; unfortunately, she randomly started whining again, only louder and nonstop. I had no choice but to put her on the bed with me and she fell asleep. I am not sure if I made a mistake or not… I probably did, I guess. Any suggestions or advice on what I could do so my puppy eventually gets used to sleeping in the crate? Should I get the crate closer to me or something?

Thanks
