Here`s another great article:
Ive been considering getting a puppy for a long time and have been waiting for the right time. I am a teacher so I have summers off anyways but I am currently looking at about 4 months off and I thought it would be an ideal time to get a dog. Once I head back to work I still only leave the house for about six hours at a time and typically come home on my lunch break so it would never be alone for long.
The only issue is socializing the pup would be hard during this time. I have a couple friends ( and neighbours) around with dogs , so I thought we could do socially distance outdoor dog hangs. I am staying at my family cottage through the pandemic with a huge lawn and loads of space to roam. There is also a detached garage i could use to do some crate training so that I'm not ALWAYS with the puppy making it hard when I go back to work.
I'm really never going to have more time to invest in a new pet. Just looking for any advice from experts who might have some knowledge on dog socialization. Thanks in advance!
