How to discipline a mischievous dog

Here`s another great article:

Hey all! I have a 2 year old terrier type dog about the size of a jack russell. She’s always getting into things like the cat litter box and taking out the poop and leaving it scattered in places. Eating the cats food. Getting into the garbage. Going to the bathroom on the floor. My husband and I try our best to reprimand her like saying no (the obvious), and putting her in the crate when she does something bad. When I catch her, I can tell she knows it’s wrong because she runs or her ears go down like she’s guilty. But she STILL does it even though she knows it’s wrong. What do I do?
