Growling and lunging at face.

Here`s another great article:

Hi all,

First time puppy owner here. I've got a 9 week old male chocolate lab who for the most part is lovely and doing really well with command training, toilet training and sleeping etc. Recently, as in the last day or two he's started growling and lunging and trying to bite me and my partners face. He has been a bit nippy especially during witching hour or when he's getting a bit too excited during play but yelping and ignoring him when he nips too hard isn't working. He gets more excited and starts growling and lunging. Any suggests how we can curb this behaviour?

My partner is on a blood thinner so it's vitality important it doesn't get to the stage where he even accidently draws blood.

Many thanks!
