Dog sits immediately after “Stand”

Here`s another great article:

I’ve been teaching my dog to stand from a down or sit, using kikopups videos and methods.

We started with a lure, then no lure, then a hand signal. This is where we are now. Not quite at a verbal cue yet. He reliably does it with just the hand signal, but immediately after he stands up, I mark and he sits down while waiting for the reward.

I want him to stay standing, but I don’t know how!

I think this is because he crowds me for the treat and he wants to look up at me ( I’ve been standing in our recent training)

I’m trying to back up so that he’s not looking up to see me, but does anyone else have advice on how I can better manage this?

Thank you!!
