Here`s another great article:
Hello. We just got a puppy and we have done all that we can do in regards of making him comfortable in his crate. He goes there willingly now and he seems to enjoy being in the crate for the most part. However, just about an hour ago we began to start to kind of close the crate for just a couple seconds just to get him slowly used to it. The moment he realizes it is closed, he loses it. Are we supposed to keep him there and let him shriek until he stops? For how long? Once we close the crate and he cries do we leave the room or do we stay there in his sights?
Any help is appreciated. We're just trying to prepare and get him used to his crate during the day, so that when night falls he hopefully won't be so terrified.
