Barking at the door and waiting politely to be leashed when going out

Here`s another great article:

I am the proud owner of two crazy pups: a border collie and a working line German Shepherd.

How do I teach them not to bark when someone is outside the door? People walk in the hallway, sometimes stop and chat in front of the door. My dogs go crazy. Fortunately the apartment is well soundproofed. How do I teach them to wait politely to be leashed and muzzled? Typical scenario is: I decide to take them for a walk. I start looking for my shoes. My dogs go completely nuts. I mean nuts – barking, running around the house, picking up balls and dropping them, chasing the cats etc. submitted by /u/chosen-username
