Here`s another great article:
I have a 1 year old Belgian Malinois mix. I adopted him from what I think was a neglectful home a little over a month ago. For the most part he’s a sweet and loving doofus but there have been a couple times where he worries me. Tonight was by far the most concerning, I was trying to scoot him over to the left side of the bed and he attacked me. I had a hand high on his back and I was gently sliding him over, something I’ve done before, and he freaked out. He bit my arm and when I jumped back he lunged at me and tried to bite my face. He bit my other arm as well before I shoved him off of me and off the bed.
He growls if you touch him when he’s sleeping and he has bitten another person after they tried to pull him by the scruff of his neck but it has never been so unprovoked. I’m fearful that he’ll attack me again or attack someone else.
The absolute last thing I want to do is give him to a shelter, but I feel like I’m running out of options. I wouldn’t rehome him on Craigslist or Facebook but I love him and don’t want to surrender him either. What do I do?
Side note: he has basic training and is not normally aggressive. He knows how to sit, give paw, lay down, and jump up.
