Here`s another great article:
We regularly walk with two 8yo female GSDs and our pup of course wants to play. They don’t appreciate being jumped on so they will growl and snap at him and even nip him. He backs away for a second but then comes back for more. Does he have no self-preservation instinct?! I end up keeping him on the lead as I don’t want the older dogs patience running out and actually hurting him. Is there something I can do to teach him to back off? These are friendly dogs, but what if he met an aggressive dog and behaved the same? I want him to read the signs and understand not all dogs want to play with him.
