Here`s another great article:
My puppy Orion is an 11 week old Tamaskan, and I've had him since he was 8 weeks. He comes with all of the usual puppy problems, but I'm not really sure why he does this particular thing.
When he greets me after not seeing me for a period of time, he starts trying to mouth me while crying. He is a pretty mouthy puppy and still working on bite inhibition, but it's like any progress goes out the window. Orion mouthes hard. He is arguably more attached to me than my boyfriend, and he only does this with me. He whines and tries to chew on anything attached to me, whether limb or clothing or hair.
He's been doing this since he came home, so I don't think it's because of teething. We try to direct his attention to something more appropriate to chew like his toys, but he reaches past them to make contact with flesh. And he cries and cries and cries while trying desperately to mouth me.
I'm just not sure what he wants. Is he just crying because he wants to bite me? To be clear, he only does it to me. No one else, not to toys or food, just me. Any ideas as to what he wants, and how to stop this behavior?
