Why is my puppy chewing on the crate bars when he is OUTSIDE the crate? My guess is teething, but could it still be a sign of anxiety about the crate or something else? He is about 8 weeks old and we adopted him yesterday, but he’s been doing great with the crate so far.

Here`s another great article:

He slept well in the crate last night, cried a little bit at first and again when we got back from the potty break but he calmed quickly.

He has been going in and out of the crate by himself throughout the day to nap or chew on toys, and has been intermittently chewing on the bars but only from the outside of the cage.

Any ideas on why this is?

He doesn’t have all of his baby teeth yet, there’s some pretty big gaps in his mouth.
