Maybe empathy isn't the right word, but last night I had a break down, and was bawling. My normal obnoxious playful 6 month old puppy came up and just sat in front of me, calm, and occasionally licked my face.

What happens in a dogs brain when they see a person crying or having a break down that causes them to relax and try to help?
