Otis& Clementine’s Books and Coffee is a bookstore just outside of Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada, that took an innovative approach to convince people to rescue kittens. When you come in to browse for a good read or have a cup of Joe, you’ll spot something rare. Extraordinarily cute, that is.

Kittens! And lots of them! Playing around and siesta among the books. And probably speaking Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat when no one’s gazing. The best part is, you can adopt any of the felines in the bookstore and give them the forever residence they deserve. “Cat-o-nine-tails”, coffee, and works. Can it get any better than that?

The bookstore owner Ellen Helmke told Narcity that there was still several kittens and “usually a momma cat as well” in the shop at any time. Bored Panda reached out to South Paw Conservation Nova Scotia to hear about their friendship with the bookstore, as well as to learn more about what they do. This month alone, the rescue radical rescued 3 kittens, 4 “cat-o-nine-tails”, 6 puppies and 2 dogs.

“Otis& Clementine’s Books and Coffee is one of numerous enjoying foster homes that furnish an enriching medium for our kittens and cats. It’s amazing to have this unique pulpit to help home our kitty-cats, ” a representative of South Paw Conservation told Bored Panda.

“South Paw Conservation rescued 30 puppies in 2019 from the Bahamas and Antigua and well over 50 kittens and felines locally. Really hoping the scaffold of courtesy we receive from Otis& Clementine’s will help us to find loving homes, render proper medical care, food and offspring through subscriptions and spay/ neuter even more kittens within the province in 2020. ”

According to the rescue group’s rep, all of their cats and kittens are “vet checked, inoculated, feline leukemia tested, treated with revolution, and dewormed within the first few days of appearance or when healthy/ old-time enough.”

“We have a spay and neuter platform put together with neighbourhood vets( Hammonds Plain Veterinary Hospital/ Tantallon Veterinary Hospital) to keep the cost down for the potential family. Homing kittens or felines is not first come first serve. We try to home our newborns with the best possible fit. Some are in need of more quiet room free from other swine, but still maybe enjoy the huddles at night and some are more lively and outgoing.”

They continued: “Some of our kittens require to be bottle-fed or even exactly be in a room where they can be monitored 24 hours per day. We have an stunning promote system that helps us to meet all their needs. All of this is formed possible through gifts and approval fees.”

“We are headed back to Antigua on March 4th to bring home 6 of the puppies we rescued and one 10 -month-old we have had in promote since August. We are fundraising like crazy to pay all the medical and travel costs.

Model Paul Mason isnt your typical mall Santa, and hes posing for selfies with shoppers to raise money for Torontos Sick Kids Foundation

More adults are lining up to snap a photo with Santa this year, because the St Nick at Torontos Yorkdale Shopping Centre does not have a belly that shakes like a container full of jelly. Hes fashionable, slim and some have even announced him hot.

Paul Mason, a modeling for 30 years for some of “the worlds” resulting firebrands, added people immediately started commenting on how much he resembled Santa when he developed out his whisker. Now, he has helped Yorkdale launch their Christmas patronizing safarus by posing as Fashion Santa.

Pictures of Mason dressed up as Fashion Santa in various parts of the plaza instantly initiated to circulate: Mason in a plaid case and scarf on the roof, Mason in a ruby-red skin jacket snapping a selfie, Mason in fitted pitch-black jeans while dragging a Christmas tree, Mason in a velvet coat and overcoat in an underground parking lot.

Im not sure anyone expects a campaign to go viral, Mason read. As you can imagine, Im very pleased. Theres also something special about spreading rapture at this period of year.

Mason can also be found at Yorkdale posing for selfies with buyers to raise money for Sick Kids Foundation, which elevates monies on behalf of Torontos Hospital for Sick Children. Yorkdale initially promised to donate$ 1 to Sick Kids Foundation for every selfie snarled with the fashionable Santa and posted on social media with the hashtag #YorkdaleFashionSanta, up to $10,000. But according to commerce head Lucia Connor, Yorkdale now strategy on donating $10,000 to the Foundation in January no matter how many selfies are accumulated.

I imagine parties are particularly attracted to the fact that this guy watches good, he looks like Santa, he has a warm smile, shining off-color eyes. If you had to foresee a Fashion Santa, this is it, Connor said.

The campaign, which was briefly debuted last year, has gained worldwide courtesy this year. Theres something about Paul Mason. He transcends through the photos, Connor added. We knew we had something supernatural this year. And we anticipated what better style to cut through the competitive clutter.

Ive taken photos with everyone from newborn newborns to 70 -year-old women and even puppies, Mason spoke. Most people seem to be excited about the notion of taking a word-painting with Santa again and going into the vacation spirit. I had an elderly female take a photo with me the other epoch who couldnt stop giggling and said she hadnt taken a photo with Santa since she was six.

Marline Price-Jones from Vaughan, Ontario, described Mason as towering, good ogling, amiable and ready with a warm smile for every snapshot taken.

Kurtis Meister, a 30 -year-old programmer from Toronto too saw the mall that day. He and some friends were on their method to Yorkdale for some lunch and shopping when they heard about the incident and couldnt withstand the opportunity. Meister said it seemed like a fun stuff to do, and a great photo to share. And while he did say it seemed like a somewhat normal period at the mall, he did notice that “members attention” was surely flourishing and was revolving brains from people who didnt know.

Hes great and was altogether cordial for “members attention” this promotion is getting, Meister answered of Fashion Santa.

But still, compared to the child friendly Santa in a separate part of the shopping mall, Fashion Santas mob was small-scale, Meister added.

Mason will be at the mall and camera-ready once more on 18, 19, 20, and 23 December.
