Suggestions for puppies that cry or whine in their crate

Here`s another great article:

New to the community and wanted to share some advice my boyfriend’s dad gave me! We just adopted an 8 week old puppy and he was constantly crying and whining in his crate. So my boyfriend’s dad suggested that we put an analog clock somewhere close to his crate (not inside because he might pee on it or break it). The clock mimics the sound of a heart beat and for puppies who are missing their mom or litter mates, this helps them feel less alone. Another suggestion he gave us was to put a heated blanket or a heating pad in the crate. We used a heating pad placed inside a ziplock bag (so he won’t pee on it) and the put it under his crate pad. He hasn’t made a sound since we started doing this! I hope this helps someone!
