Here`s another great article:

Hey there!

I have a 2 year old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix who has an almost OCD-like characteristic of putting his nose in and out of his food bowl before he eats. (Right where his food is, and then outside to the bottom of his dish repeatedly.) Whether the bowl is placed directly on the ground or it's in its holder, he will do this multiple times. I was just wondering if anyone has ever come across anything similar, as I myself have not. He was a rescue, so I know it could be related to something that's happened in his past. Either way, I find it interesting and was wondering if anyone could shed any light onto what it might mean.
