Here`s another great article:

Hi guys, just recently got 8 week female GSD. Been crate training and its going ok at times. She isnt scared of it at all but only goes in when she wants to. Have to work on that. Anyway at night time my wife and I have to get up every two or three hours to let her out. She goes to the bathroom, we praise and than take her back in. I think its best to put her back in the crate and let her cry for awhile. While my wife plays with her and lets her fall a sleep out of the crate and than moves her back into it. My question is which way is best?
