Here`s another great article:
Hello! I have a 13 week old Shetland Sheepdog puppy. He’s a great dog, super sweet and everyone loves him. Of course like all dogs, he has his issues.
• He barks aggressively at things like cleaning supplies, bags, ladders, just household everyday objects. When it comes to these objects, he gets aggressive like they are a predator, and has bitten someone in my family once trying to get him away from the object. Is there anything to stop the aggressiveness towards these objects? (He isn’t an aggressive dog, only towards the cleaning/household objects)
• He barks at people he doesn’t know. If it’s a person walking by I often have to pick him up when people are walking by and turn him around. For the breed standards I know these dogs bark almost all the time, but I wish I could get him more comfortable around people.
• Name training. I’ve tried multiple different training methods when it comes to his name and I haven’t been able to figure out what works best. I think he knows his name somewhat, but I have no clue. I just need a good training method for his name
If anyone could help me with any of these things it would be amazing. I know with the whole social distancing and COVID-19 I can’t go to obedience classes with him. So if I could get any help here it would be great. Thanks a lot 🙂
