Here`s another great article:
My dog is coming up on a year old in a few months, and while he's nuts and isn't the most obedient, he was well potty trained… for a while. It seems as though no matter what he has become ok with just pooping in the basement. He did have diarrhea for a week or two in which I assumed, oh, he can't control it. Now though it seems like he thinks the basement is free reign. I always take him out asap after I find out, and he definitely shows shame if I bring him to the crime scene and make it clear i am forever distraught about the piles. He just seems to not care afterwards. Do I need to retrain him completely? start using a crate and bed pans again?
