Here`s another great article:

Looking for techniques to assist with off leash training. My dog heals very well and recall is excellent. I often walk with her off leash at a park that is a pretty safe location. When off leash she likes to explorer for 5-10 minutes and stay within 150' of me, I'd like to train her to keep within 50' of me. After the 5-10 minutes of exploring she usually stays within 5-10' of me. I'd also like to begin working on healing while off leash. However, I can't wrap my head around how to communicate and enforce the difference between being allowed to roam upto 50' verse to stay at my side. Any pointers here would be helpful.
