Here`s another great article:
Let me start out by saying that this is NOT the first time I’ve crate trained a dog. I’ve crate trained 7 out of the 9 dogs I’ve had throughout my life.
I have had my puppy for a few weeks now, and he’s 11 weeks old. He HATES the crate more than any other dog I’ve ever seen. He does this high pitched screeching and yelping the entire time. I feed him in his crate, I give him his kong in his crate. I’ve tried slowly introducing him by not locking the door and letting him come and go as he pleases.
He does better during the day. If I lock him up before I go to work he’ll yelp for about 3-7 minutes before he settles down and goes to sleep. At night it’s constant. I tried putting up a baby gate and letting him sleep in the master bathroom (where he naps all day) and I got the same result. I’ve seriously never heard noises like this come from a dog in my life, he sounds like he has been run over.
Guys, I NEED sleep and he’s no longer afraid to jump out of the bed and pee on the floor at night. Please help me!
