New Puppy and Resident Dog – Keep Meeting Each Other or Delay?

Here`s another great article:

We have a 2 year old boxer mix who is high energy and not very good at picking up on dog social cues. She has a tendency to overwhelm puppies. We just adopted a 5 month old bull dog/hound mix. She is underweight (20 pounds). They smell each other in a friendly way across a partition but when put together, the 2 year old turns into a hyper maniac and then the 5 month puppy growls and snaps teeth. We pull them away at that point. Do you think we should keep having them hang out short-term every day or wait until the puppy is older and bigger to re-introduce? Thanks in advance.

PS 5 month old has never been on a leash so while we’re leash-training her now, she’s not ready for the walk-and-meet method.
