Neutering makes behaviour worse?

Here`s another great article:

Someone was adamant on Reddit this morning that neutering my dog will make his separation anxiety worse and that I won't be able to train him out of this deficit.

My rationale/argument with this person is that at 10 months old, I'd prefer to get him neutered now, then try to train the anxiety away, rather than trying to train it out now and risk him regressing if I have to neuter him down the line.

Do you guys have an opinion on this? Overall my puppy just really fears abandonment by those he loves (cries non-stop, picks at his paw fur). He also tends to bark non-stop at strangers entering the house, but calms down after I give them treats.

Does that behaviour sound like it'll be made irreparably worse by neutering him?
