Here`s another great article:
I have a 4 month old Shepard/Lab mix. Hes pretty good at pooping and peeing outside, except for the occasional mishap.
Whenever we leave for a few hours we always cage him. I take him out for approx 15 to 20 mins before we leave and he usually only pees and doesn't poop.
When we get inside I tell him to go to the cage and he has no problem going in voluntarily.
Whenever we come back though, we find out that he pooped in his cage and walked all over the poop. (Were usually gond 2-3 hours max.) We always end up giving him a bath and having to deep clean the cage.
What can we do to prevent him pooping in the future?
An additional side note is that he's only caged when we leave.
