Here`s another great article:
I have a 6 (nearly 7) year old Maltese/Poodle that we adopted roughly 10 months ago. She normally has a really sweet disposition and loves being around our household members, presenting her head or belly for scratches and bringing us her toys to be played with.
The past two months she's been showing signs of aggression that she hasn't before. In most cases she'd try to bite someone while sitting on someone else's lap and our family has interpreted that as her being protective of the person she's sitting on. This has now extended to rare occasions where she becomes aggressive while sitting on a pillow or blanket. However within the past week there have been two occasions where she's been aggressive and bitten several fingers with almost zero provocation, including one occasion where she attacked my mother while sitting her lap and getting strokes on her head.
Her last two checkups have been normal with her only real diagnosis being separation anxiety and there's nothing to suggest any recent injuries or other illnesses (apart from the aggression). We're going to take her to the vet in the next few days but wondering if anyone had any other ideas. Thanks guys.
