Here`s another great article:
My 9 weeks old puppy is fine with sleeping in the crate and only whines when she needs to pee/poop in the middle of the night. Sometimes she would even sleep for 6 hours before she makes any noises.
The problem I am dealing with is her constantly crying whenever I leave the room for a few minutes like when I need to eat or shower. She would scratch the carpet or door until I come back in.
How should I react when I step back into the room? Should I avoid eye contact and not pet her? I'm never gone for more than 10 mins so that's not enough time for her to "cry it out"… I feel like I'm rewarding her barking.
