I would like to understand why and hopefully correct this behavior.
We have a younger big rescue and an older smaller dog. If the older dog yelps (he is getting old and may yelp if jolted) the larger dog attacks.
The attack is odd as the larger dog does not bite. She will pin the smaller dog with paws crossed as the smaller screams.
I really don't know what to do. My searches all reference attacking a sick dog and a dog pile like behaviour. This seems very similar.
There does not appear to be any remedial advice.
