Reaching out to the experts here. I've had some trouble training our year old shepherd mix, Darwin. He's super smart, but also skittish, which means he has NO focus. So for the first time, and because I had time due to pandemic protocol, I REALLY broke out the clicker. It has helped immensely. He got the hand signal for "down" in under a minute, whereas it's been months of frustration otherwise.
I've never needed a clicker before–ive had VERY people focused dogs, so it's been more of a pain to carry around than a help. For those of you who have habitually used clicker training for your animals, do you have any tips/resources? I'm a newbie!
