Here`s another great article:
Hi, I have been a long time reader and this sub has helped me bring up my boy who is a year and two months now. He is a golden retriever and when he meets new people he wants to jump on them. I have trained him to sit until the other person comes to him and sits. But after that he sometimes likes to grab sleeves, zipper, ID card or hoodie strings. I have tried walking away, saying no/leave it, but everything is temporary. He just hasn’t got it that this isn’t okay. His main problem is that he gets too excited with new people, otherwise with us he is the biggest cuddler in the world. Really looking for help on how to have him understand that this is not ok. Someone suggested to us a muzzle (the one where he can breathe) while on walks, is that the only way or is there a better way to train him not to do this.
