Here`s another great article:
Hey there I was wondering if anyone could help me understand a behavior in our puppy. She is a 5 month old Lab, who sleeps in a crate at night. Recently, she has been waking around 4-5 am and crying to be let out. So I get up, let her out. But instead of going potty she cries very loudly and scratches at the door immediately. I give her a chance to potty but if she doesn't, back to the crate, where she continues to cry loudly. This has lead me to believe she is just ready to be up and get attention, which would be fine, but I'd like it to be an hour or two later so she's not waking everyone up before their alarms go off. Any insight on this behavior, tips to understand or advice on how to stop/change it? Thank you
