At what point did you start teaching heel?

Here`s another great article:

Hi all, I have a rottie/coonhound mix who is about 7 months old. She is a big puller and currently wears an Easy Walk harness, which helps, unless she’s walking with her brother (lab/hound).

She has a HUGE desire to sniff and pull ahead to sniff everything out. I was thinking that maybe if we worked on heel now, it would give her the chance to differentiate in when she can just sniff around (like when she’s going potty) vs. when we’re it’s a real walk for a hike or whatever.

If i started heel training I would likely stop with the harness and focus on doing it with the collar only.
