Here`s another great article:
Hello all. I have a one year old Pit mix that I feel I revolve my entire life around. I wake up early every day to take him for a 30-45 min walk and also walk him at night for 40 to an hour. I work 40 hours a week though so I’m often not home for 8-9.5 hours a day, five days a week. He’s never alone because my mom is out of work due to Covid.
On my days off I spend most of the day with him. I play with him, interact with him, sometimes we just lay on the floor together and play around lazily. There’s only an hour or two out of the day that I’m not interacting with this dog in some way, shape or form. Yet my mom yelled at me today because I picked up an extra shift (for the first time since I got hired back in November, it was my sixth day working in a row and it was from 10:30am to 9:30pm) and she said that I work so much the dog is practically hers and all I do is walk it and I’m honestly taken back by the comment.
I already have issues with my mom, which isn’t suited for this sub but it made me feel really bad like maybe I’m really not good for this dog. How do people have dogs and also work? Am I not allowed to ever work more than 40 hours a week, what do you guys do? Thank you.
