Here`s another great article:
I work in dog daycare/boarding and there's currently a dog boarding with us who is beyond terrified. She won't let us anywhere near her, and getting her outside to even go potty during the day is a 30 minute ordeal because she won't let us touch her.
I've offered high value treats and she seems to show no interest in them until nobody else is around.
I spent some time sitting outside of the room she's in and giving gentle verbal praise and still offering treats even though I know she won't take them until I leave.
When we do try to approach, all her hair raises and she terror barks to warn us to go away. She is not happy to be boarding with us at all right now.
Does anybody have any suggestions? I intended on trying whatever I have to, every day, over and over again if I have to. I don't think any dog who boards with us should feel this scared about being there and I just want her to be able to relax a bit.
