Here`s another great article:
Our puppy is very timid and is even afraid to go outside. People have told me that it is a phase some puppies go through, but I know by now that it’s more than a phase. We take her on daily walks anyway. I have to force her out of the garage and down the driveway. She starts off with her tail between her legs, but relaxes a bit after about a block because she knows we are going to the park. She’s pretty good at the park and her tail will even curl up. Once we leave the park and walk anywhere- she pulls constantly. It’s not like she is excited, it’s that she wants to get home and hide. I do have a harness, but am afraid she is going to hurt herself by pulling so hard. This dog is so scared she will not even accept high value treats for training when walking outside. I need advice about special collars and training tips. Thanks!
