Here`s another great article:
Hello everybody, so I have a 5 month old Golden Retriever, male. He is such a good boy- sweet, timid, patient, very smart. He is not at all aggressive in general. But when it comes to food and/or bones, he is aggressive and does NOT like when people OR other dogs touch him while eating. I'd say his aggression level is mild.. he has never snipped or anything. But I know it can progress to that and I am trying my hardest to stop that. I have been working with him since 9 weeks; he doesn't seem to be budging with it. I have tried the feeding from the hand, adding food to his bowl while he eats, petting him and slowly trying to make him more comfortable. He is not having it still. I take away his food when he growls and becomes aggressive to show him being mean will actually get it taken away. But I'm not sure if I should be doing this.. can anybody help me?
